The project “You are making me Paranoid” investigates into the spatialisation of espionage infrastructure during the Cold War and communist regime in Albania. The typology of infrastructures used for espionage during these regimes was studied to understand the critical role these elements play in facilitating boundary violations, blurring the lines between state authority and individual privacy through non-consensual transmission of private information and surveillance. This installation communicates the heightened state of paranoia experienced during periods of geopolitical tension and oppression due to the use of espionage. Moreover, this project prompts critical questions about the nature of information transmitted through modern networks and sparks a debate on privacy in an era of democracy.
