Water Heritage looks at the health of an olive grove in the Sitia district of Crete and how it has been impacted by the artificial wind turbines that are exacerbating the perennial drought on the island.
Olive groves form a large part to the agricultural land on the island and have provided a livelihood for generations of people. However, with the loss of water sources, their living environment is also facing severe challenges.
The project constructs a visual metaphor about water resources, climate change, and ecological balance through symbolic elements such as olive branches, mirrors and a drip irrigation system.
