Solastalgia is the pain we feel when we are at home but the landscape around us is changing and no longer recognizable. Glen Albrecht
Is the urban environment, constantly shaped for the welfare of humankind, truly the most suitable habitat for humans?
Solastalgia aims to explore the instinctual reactions to environmental changes by capturing sounds produced by the human body, such as heartbeats, breathing, gut sounds, and nervous system responses.
What defines a comfortable life? Perhaps our body’s instinctual responses hold the answers. The human body’s instincts and perceptions function as a digestive system for our environment and society. Is the "progress" we pursue driven by need or by desire?
Capturing the sounds of the body during various movements and events offers an internal sonic portrait of the human body in action. Human consciousness transforms through the spaces we inhabit, whether in urban environments (e.g., walking on a busy street or within a crowded community) or in nature/water (providing relaxation and healing).
