Wind is an omnipresent force in nature, often overlooked, but it is, in fact, a key medium that connects and shapes different ecosystems. Wind, in its various forms and at remarkable speeds, carries matter across environments, altering ecological structures and facilitating interactions between different systems.
Even small changes in the wind—slight shifts in wind speed or material transport through the air—can trigger complex chain reactions, affecting the balance of entire ecosystems. As the “butterfly effect” suggests, the subtle movement of the wind might alter entire climate patterns or stir waves in distant places.
