"Clashing Perspectives: Individuality in the Face of Social Fear"

Section MS9, Daryan Knoblauch

Keywords: technology

This project looks at the fear of trendsetters in China. It focuses on how people are afraid of new styles and ideas. The goal is to show how this fear stops people from being creative and different. The installation helps people think about these fears and how they limit individual expression. It also encourages them to see the value of breaking stereotypes."Trendsetter Phobia" means feeling uncomfortable in places full of fashionable young people. This fear shows how society pushes back against unique styles and ideas. It is not just about rejecting trends but also stopping people from living in new and different ways. The tunnel is the main symbol of this project. A tunnel is a deep and unknown space. It represents the fear of what we do not understand. It also shows the journey of finding hidden memories. In history, tunnels and military structures were seen as places of protection and isolation. For example, during World War II, many air-raid shelters kept people safe. But they also made people feel trapped and scared. Tunnels protect people, but they can also feel narrow and confining. This project uses the tunnel to help people think about their fears. It asks them to look at the conflict between fear and personal expression.
