This project is a bookwork exploring the idea of sequencing and the codification of language. Using weaving as an inspiration for the thematic of my bookwork, I use weaving as a form of making and as a metaphor.

Looking at the way books and archives are used as a method to hold information, weaving becomes a language to present the storing information in a non-representational way. The act of reading something woven requires a specific knowledge on the making of the woven piece. The techniques of physical manipulation and superimposition of images is a material inquiry into how archival images construct readings and narratives. The woven piece creates its own visual language, where weaving becomes a technique to abstract the sourced image, codifying its completeness.

Together, the compilation of materials codifies the language of the bookwork. It’s an instruction or invitation on how to read re-sequenced pages, texts, sources, images, archives, knowledges.
