This project indicates how private language progressively loses its autonomy and security in extensive surveillance. I examine how words are intercepted, disassembled, and reconfigured, taken out of their original private context, and turned into content that can be examined, misinterpreted, and appropriated using handwritten letters as a media object. This work illustrates the progression of text from intimate writing to fragmentation and blurring, ultimately resulting in self-censorship and silence, through masking, and restructuring and cut-up.
