In 2023, Argentina’s new President, Milei, campaigned on legalising organ trading, which makes it urgent to investigate the situation of organ trafficking. The project investigates the trade of human organs in Iran, Argentina, and Bangladesh, aiming to show how economic factors can drive illicit activities in contexts where culture and medicine typically do not condone them.
The study will utilise an experimental archival approach, primarily collecting charts related to the three countries' medical practices, cultures, and economic conditions. Organs and text float among them, with economic charts sandwiched in the middle. By presenting a vast collection of these heterogeneous materials, the project wants to encourage readers to independently establish connections and understand the influence of the three factors on the organ trade.
