"ERASURE"
Section MS14, Jermaine Francis
Keywords: environment, repetition, landscape, abstraction
This project aims to narrate erasure in a non-linear and abstract way. This project responds to the idea of abstraction in presenting the misrepresented and how it is presented in a seriality. The critical engagement of media in this project lies on how the photocopy machine is used. Instead of utilizing it as a tool to produce a number of exact same information on pieces of paper, this project depends on the inaccuracy the machine makes when producing a copy of the original. The use of acetate sheets instead of regular paper also challenges the idea that the information printed by the machine should be clear.
