Section MS9, Daryan Knoblauch

Keywords: nature

“catch it” is an investigation into the commercialisation of our environment and is specifically looking into Wind as a resource that steers our market economy. By using the Dogger Bank Wind Farm as a case study the project reflect through an installation and the making of a video on the relation ship between nature, technology and the unforeseen aesthetics that are put in place. From meteorology to astronomy, from literature to philosophy, from technology to nature, wind continues to change and inspire people's imaginations and explorations about nature while bringing energy to human society, keep reflecting and reconnecting with nature. In ancient times totems were primitive models for the contemplation of man's relationship with nature, and ancient people used trees, which were a symbol of nature, to make totems. The installation is made by moulding metal air ducts into the shape of a 'totem'. It examines the relationship between technology and nature in contemporary society.
