In 2022, the crisis between Taiwan and China has intensified. Tensions have reached another peak as China conducts actual military exercises in the national waters surrounding Taiwan. Although they did not cause any damage to the people or territory, this intangible insinuation stirred the nerves of every Taiwanese resident, but again strongly expressed China’s opinion through insinuation.

The breaking news of state media, the shouting of political leaders, and actually hearing the sound of fighter jets flying over homes that could cause harm all hinted at the possible future war for every Taiwanese resident. Created real panic they wanted to cause, and more substantially accomplished the political turmoil, stock price volatility, and psychological trauma of Taiwan.

A survivor of a drone strike in Datta Khel, FATA Pakistan said: "The constant noise from drones has driven many villagers to insanity. When I hear a loud noise now, I am very frightened that a drone strike is happening, and I live in this constant fear.” The soundscape’s cues to the brain are more informative than we realise, as reflected by our increased heart rate when we hear a gunshot.
