This project brings to light what living with OCD means and debunks myths around it as a mental health issue. Drawing on my past in professional dance, and taking advantage of this as a physical language, I choreograph the psychological struggles between OCD and the body. A body that moves through distinct spaces of imagined fear, touching, coercing, detaching it from itself and the world. Nothing is really happening, yet it is absolutely real. A provocative performance layering information through sound and sight, exploiting the power of mediation to describe something both abstract and physical, this mental health issue is expressed and choreographed through dance.
